It looks like you would like to learn Turkish. Well, you have come to the right place!
It can be confusing to get started, so let me help you with a step-by-step approach.
Here is how to get started learning:
- Sign up for lessons: Apps are a great supplement, but they will not ultimately teach you how to speak. That is why you will need lessons with a teacher in real-time (not recorded lessons). It is important you get real-life speaking practice. Here are some options for lessons:
- Take online group lessons: My language school, ABC Languages, offers small group classes online (no more than 6 students per group). You can learn more about the group Turkish programs here.
- Take private online lessons with a professional Turkish teacher. ABC Languages also offers one-on-one online lessons with a professional Turkish teacher. Learn about our private Turkish programs here.
- Get Learning Materials: Obviously, I am going to recommend ABC Turkish. I believe it is the most learner-friendly textbook out there. Don’t get lost surfing around among all the confusing options. This book is logical and has everything you need.
- Explore Auxiliary Materials: There are many materials that can supplement your learning outside your textbook and classroom. I recommend Babbel.com or Dulingo.com. If you are someone who drives to work, Pimsleur has a great audio series for beginners.
- Carve Out Time for Learning: Setting a study schedule for yourself is very important. Going to class will not be enough, you will need to find time for self-study. You can supplement time outside the class by finding a language exchange partner or joining a practice group.
